Hi.
I would like to know what companies based in the UK develop IVR
(Interactive Voice Response) applications. These are the sort of
touch-tone telephone applications that companies use - you know,
"press 1 for sales 2 for whatever". Any indication while your at it
for how much this market is worth in the UK per year would also be
helpful - is it growing? etc

An assesment of the IVR market in the UK is provided on the Motley
Fool website at http://www.fool.co.uk/stockfoolery/techtalk.htm

they identify these companies as leaders in the field
"Dragon Systems, with NaturallySpeaking, but IBM ViaVoice is also
popular. Lernout and Hauspie (L&H) along with Philips also feature."
and also provide links to corporate sites.

A discussion of IVR technology that includes the names of major
players in the field is in Connect Magazine Online at:
http://www.connectweb.co.uk/public/features/2001_02/zeroing.htm

I found this market information at the C3 Ltd. website

81% of UK individuals have used IVR (compared with an average 67% for
other countries surveyed) Source: Datamonitor’s European Business
Teleculture Report

75% of hi tech call centres are already using IVR Source: Strategic
Telemedia

UK service providers generate over £200m in IVR revenues each year
Source: Telescope

Search terms: IVR "interactive voice response" site: .Uk
IVR market site: .UK
IVR revenues site: .UK

I hope you find this data useful.

Request for Answer Clarification by backtothefuture-ga on 10 Sep 2002 10:49 PDT
Hi nelly_bly-ga

I'm afraid that the answer isn't there ?

What was found refers to IVR in the text of the pages - but both are
analysis of the speeech vs IVR marketplace (and from 2000 - 2001)

I would like a list of companies in the UK who will write me a system
using IVR. These companies might be speech vendors - but I suspect
not?

Thanks.
David.
PS I wanted up the price but couldn't

helpful none the less.

Dear backtothefuture--

I regret that I misunderstood your request. Is it the case, then, that
you are looking for the names of IVR programmers/systems developers?

If so, I'm afraid we are leaving my area of expertise (business data.)

I will make an attempt to find the information you want, but it may
well be that you will need to repost your question so that someone
with more specific computer knowledge can work on it.

Hi Nellie.

I'm afraid that again - that wasn't quite what I was after.

I shall repost. Please accept my thanks.

Kind regards
David.
