The first three schools came from the recommendation of “Study
Acting: Where Should You Study?” on the ExitHollywood.com website.
“When we first started to look around for schools and studios, we
realized that most industry professionals and actors can’t agree on
the same training. Why? Because selecting the best class is such a
personal thing, everybody has to find out for themselves what works
for them. Do you want to sign up for a 2-year graduate school or would
you prefer to start with one class at a time? Do you want to go into
theatre or film? Are commercials what you want to do first? Before
looking for training, you have to figure out what you want to learn!
There are hundreds of schools and studios in Los Angeles, but
unfortunately, lots of coaches have little experience. Some schools
and studios attract students by advertising, "Our alumni work in TV
and feature films," but the ad doesn’t say that their former students
have roles worth mentioning. Also, keep in mind that famous acting
schools or studios aren’t necessarily better than no-name schools.
