I've been working as a self-employed consultant for a couple of years,
and I'm in need of some help on how to set my prices for the services
I provide. When I first began doing this I went to a seminar and the
person sitting next to me recommended a book about this very topic. I
didn't write the name down, but it had an easy title which I
remembered... for awhile anyway. I do remember the author's name is
Lewis. I'm certain that is the last name but have no idea what the
first name is. I know it's a common first or last name - Google gave
me 8 million results on 'lewis' so I decided to pass this quest on to
you researchers at Google Answers.

There may be a number of books that cover this topic but I'm really
looking for the one by the author specified, since she (the person I
sat next to) recommended it so highly and it was affordable. The name
of the book is my only request - I can take it from there. Although a
link to a site to make the purchase would be nice.

I believe the book you are seeking is "What to Charge: Pricing
Strategies for Freelancers and Consultants"
by Laurie Lewis
Aletheia Pubns; ISBN: 1929129009; 1 edition (January 1, 2000)
The book lists for $19.95

Available at http://www.amazon.com

Here is the book description from Amazon:
"Offers proven strategies to take the guesswork out of pricing. Not a
compilation of rates for various types of consulting jobs, but a set
of strategies for pricing that will be useful no matter what the year,
the industry, or the tasks demanded for a particular assignment.
Compares different methods of pricing, how to approach clients, how to
give yourself a raise, and analysis of pricing decisions."
