Hello,

I'm looking for seven month long, or close, English courses in New
Zealand for absolute beginners with plenty of exposure to locals for
practice. If the school plays a proactive role in getting their
students that exposure instead of with other students whom have a less
of a command of the English language, that would be prefered.

URLs of the courses and possible their costs or contact info to gain
them would be enough.

Thanks.

Hi lizardnation

One organisation that seems to meet your requirements is Eurolingua
http://www.eurolingua.com/

They have many centres worldwide, including one in Timaru, on New
Zealand's South Island. Details of this centre are fully laid out on
their website at http://www.eurolingua.com/English_in_New_Zealand.htm

Regarding their staff, they say "[a]ll teaching staff are
highly-qualified professionals, supported by experienced
administrators. They provide a friendly and stimulating learning
environment and achieve outstanding results."

With regards to your request for an environment that maximises
students' exposure to native English-speakers, they can promise that
"... students are placed with one of our local, carefully selected
host families on a full-board (all meals) basis. They have their own
room with a desk and all laundry is taken care of. Host families
provide an excellent opportunity for students to practice their
English with a New Zealand family."

At http://www.eurolingua.com/Language_Programmes.htm the company
details the various different courses that they run, which can be
anything from a simple 2-week programme right up to a customised
long-term programme which can be anything from "13 to 52 weeks".

Alternatively, if you would prefer a less rural location (South
Island's lakeland, whilst stunningly beautiful, is somewhat isolated),
you may find the Auckland Language Centre to be more suitable.
http://www.geosalc.co.nz/courses.html

Their General English courses run from "2 weeks to 30 weeks" in length
and their accommodation centre are happy to arrange homestay living
during your course, which once again would enable you to practice your
new-found language skills with real New Zealanders.

I hope the above will help you find the place you're seeking. Please
feel free to ask for clarification if any of the above isn't
completely clear.
