Hi there,

I believe I've found the solution to your problem.
Going to ACT's website (http://www.act.com), clicking on Service &
Support, and searching for your error message brought up the following
link: http://itdomino.act.com/act.nsf/docid/200262414215. By following
the link in that support article I found a detailed solution on how to
fix your problem at http://itdomino.act.com/act.nsf/docid/2001111265352.
Basically the problem is caused by Netscape taking over and renaming
the mapi32.dll file which is needed by ACT to run, but could also be
caused by a missing mapi32.dll file.

By following the directions below, you should be able to easily fix
the problem. I've posted the solution here for your convenience, but
if you want to see the full article you can use follow the link below.

From the article "Error Messages referring to MAPI32.DLL while opening
or installing ACT" (http://itdomino.act.com/act.nsf/docid/2001111265352):

"Netscape Communicator
This error can occur if Netscape Communicator version 4.x is installed
and Netscape Messenger is set to be used from Messaging API (MAPI)
programs. To resolve this, please perform the following.
1. In Netscape Communicator, choose Preferences from the Edit menu.
2. Select Mail & Newsgroups.
3. Uncheck the Use Netscape Messenger from MAPI-based application
option.
4. Click OK
5. Quit Netscape Communicator.
6. From the Windows Start menu, choose Find/Search, and select Files
or Folders.
7. In the Named field type FIXMAPI.EXE and then click Search/Find Now.
8. Once a FIXMAPI.EXE file is found, double-click on it to run it.
Nothing may appear to happen.

Note: If, upon opening Netscape Messenger, you are prompted to make
Messenger the default mail client, be sure to select the "Do not
perform this check in the future" option and click No.

Missing MAPI32.DLL
If you do not have Netscape Communicator 4.5 or 4.6 installed, or you
have gone through the above steps and still receive the same error
message, a MAPI32.DLL file most likely does not exist in the correct
location on your computer. A copy of the MAPI32.DLL needs to placed
into the System32 folder (for NT,2000, or XP) or System folder (for
95, 98, or ME) in order for ACT! to install or run. To find/restore
that file, please see the following suggestions:

This file may have been renamed by Windows to MAPI32BAK.DLL. Search
the hard drive for that file. If it is found, copy it to the
/WinNT/System32 (for NT,2000, or XP) or /Windows/System (for 95, 98,
or ME) folder and rename it to MAPI32.DLL.

If there is not a MAPI32BAK.DLL, a compatible version of the
MAPI32.DLL file will need to be installed. One way to restore the file
is to install (or reinstall) Microsoft Office. The file also can be
found on the Windows install CD or on another computer running the
same version of Windows."

I hope that solves your problem! If not, please feel free to ask for
clarification and I'll be happy to continue to search for you.
