I've done some thorough searching, and can't find the actual letters
online anywhere.

Your best bet might be looking a public library or a (online)
bookstore.

I myself am working at a library and we have 4 copies of the book. I'm
afraid though that scanning / typing the actual letters and posting
them might very well be an infingement of the copyrights on this
work...

Should however this be allowed (you'd need to check with the Google
anwsers people at answers-editors@google.com) I'd be more then willing
to post these as an anwser.
