Hi there!

There are very few free sites offering Japanese audio, but I did find
a couple that might help.

Teach Yourself Japanese offers a complete breakdown of lessons and a
sounds file, as well as a very busy message board:

CosCom offers "Learn Japanese on the Web". Quick daily lessons with
audio are free, other services, including "Japanese@once" and
"CyberClass" are available for a fee:

This is an interesting free site still in development - it offers
conversational Japanese, and a "matchmaker" setup to find conversation
partners. Sounds are listed, but are not yet available to hear:

You can also find a collection of Japanese sound files here:

Not specifically what you were looking for, but still possibly of some
use to you:

Language Trade offers free matchups with conversation partners over
YahooMessenger:

The Japanese Tutor used to offer completely free access. Due to the
number of other sites that stole his work, as well as the expense of
maintaining the site, Mr. Reed now asks for a small donation before
granting access to his extensive collection of Japanese movie and
audio files:

Not free, but offering more than 4,000 audio files and an "Ask the
Teacher" service for $11.95 a month:

Hope these help!

I was disappointed in this answer because better suited towards
introductory or elementary Japanese.
