I would like to connect with a friend who lives in Budapest, Hungary,
though it is possible he has moved out of the city.  I do not have his
current address or phone number.  I last connected with him in 1997. 
His name is Csaba Bollok (or Bollok Csaba as the Hungrarians would say
it) - He made a short but well-reviewed film in 1999 called Eszak,
Eszak (North by North) and I am also very interested in obtaining a
copy of this film, preferably in VHS format.

Extensive internet searches have turned up some information
(ce-review, kinoeye, film festival listings, etc.) but I can not find
a postal address, phone listing or a way to purchase a copy of Eszak,
Eszak in ANY format. Please help!

comment has shown me the right way to detecting contact information
for Csaba Bollok.

I came to a website of the Hungarian Historical Film Endownment
(http://www.mtfa.hu/), containing data on an annual film contest.
While the HTML version (http://www.mtfa.hu/2002/2002nyert.htm) does
list a Csaba Bollok with his feature film "Hulla, Pelyhes, Feher", but
no personal contact information, the Excel version of this data
(www.mtfa.hu/excels/2002_jatekfilm-forgatokonyv.xls) has indeed the
following address information on the mentioned Csaba Bollok:

I did not dare calling this person to ask him whether he was the Csaba
Bollok who made "Eszak, Eszak". But I took heart and phoned the film

To tell the truth, communication was an immense problem. I strongly
hope I understood everything right. But as far as I could follow the
words, this Csaba Bollok currently working with Panorama Film in
Budapest is the one you are looking for. Yet if it turns out that he
is not, it is clearly my fault.

By the way, neither Csaba Bollok nor his phone number above is listed
in the official telephone directory of Budapest
(http://www.matav.hu/tudakozo/index_e.html), but this might be so by
special request of the owner.

Sadly, I was not able to find a VHS video or DVD of "Eszak, Eszak"
anywhere. It seems that the film has not been released in either
format.

Again, I hope my search revealed what you were looking for. If not,
blame it on me and my less than fragmentary knowledge of the Hungarian
language.

Thanks!  I'm pretty sure you found the right one.  I am going to mail
a postcard (I don't want to disturb him by calling him either,
especially if he's finishing up a new film!), so I won't know for a
while, but your answer deserves a good rating, since you found what I

I found the contact email to Miklos Erhartdt, responsable of the

I found also a email address of someone called Bollok Csaba (I don't

different Bollok Csaba.  I have emailed others involved with the
production studio in the past, but not Miklos Erhartdt, so I'll give
it a try.

The information you found about the Boston Film Foundation is 5 years
old, and as far as I know, 1997 was the last time he was in the
states.  He did an internship there, and it was during that time that
I last connected with him (I first met him in 1995.)

I will try emailing/postal mailing tvfilm.  I'm pretty sure I've
emailed them before, but sometimes persistence pays.  My search goes
back about 2 years now, beginning when my last postal mailing was
returned...

I guess I was hoping that a Hungarian Google user might see my post
and have first-hand information, or at least know someone who has.

I do appreciate the efforts of all the commenters very much.
