I have become intrigued by an Italian artist. Her depiction of J.R.R.
Tolkien's Ent Treebeard is fascinating. Here is a jpeg image of the
artwork:

Another image by the artist is of Tom Bombadil:

The artist is Alessandra Cimatoribus.

My question is this:
-->> Is there a website (in English) where I can purchase the
Treebeard piece by A. Cimatoribus? I am looking for a limited
edition print.
AND (as a post-script) the following information would be nice to
know:
What is the medium of the Treebeard piece? When was is made? What
are the dimensions of the original? Where is the original and is it
for sale? How much?

Hello,

Why don't you call her up? She lives in Spilimbergo (see, e.g.
http://www.comune.udine.it/bcur/html/a_c.htm )

So, go to Italy White Pages (
http://paginebianche.virgilio.it/pb/home/ ), enter:
Cognome: Cimatoribus
Commune: Spilimbergo

and her phone number will be at the top of the results page. She
probably knows enough English to converse (she has done some work for
American companies; if you do a search for her name on Google, you'll
find a prize-winning San Marco game that she has designed).

Another thing I found is a series of Tolkien CD-ROMs (free!) produced
in Russia that include A.C.'s illustrations:

SU. Tolkien collection (the page is in Russian)

Contact Annatar (annatar@p27.f1171.n5030.z2.fidonet.org).

Minor correction: Alessandra is a self-taught childrens' illustrator
specializing in fantasy and a kind of Chagall-like dreamy irrealism.
She was also the illustrator on a few games, like San Marco and Torres
(Towers). She presents her work at international illustration
competitions. The Silmaril competition was organized by the Italian
Tolkien Society ( http://www.tolkien.it/) ; it was there she won first
prize. You can buy posters and other items from their Web site. You
might also want to contact them regarding this specific work
(Barbalbero == Treebeard)

Società Tolkieniana Italiana
via Regina Elena 4,
33030 Basaldella (UD)

I did not see a separate poster print of Cimatoribus' Treebeard for
sale, but a large format coffee table book of Tolkien illustrations
contains a print. I found it in French, "Le royaume de Tolkien -
visions de terres-du-mileu" (the World of Tolkien - visions of Middle
Earth) on sale for about USD$20 at these two Web sites:

As well as on Amazon France

oops, if you phone Italy, the country code is +39, and you don't dial
the first 0 from outside Italy.
