Hi, I would like to translate "for whom I prevail" in latin, in any of
the languages variations. It would be best if the translation was in
the most remote form of this language. Please specify.
thank you

Regarding the phrase "for whom I prevail," I presume that you mean "on
whose behalf I prevail." Are you using "prevail" in the sense of
"win," or in some other sense? In order to find just the right Latin
verb, it would be very helpful to know the context in which the phrase
will appear.

I don't quite understand what you are needing when you say you want
"the most remote form" of Latin, and that we should specify. What are
we specifying? Are we supposed to find a link online that contains the
translation? By "most remote," do you mean "most ancient" or "most
obscure?"

Sorry to bother you with so many questions, but a more precise
understanding of your need helps us to provide a better answer.

Hi, yes we are looking for the most obscure form of the language, and
"prevail" is being used as "existence", if it's not possible you may
use "win".thank you

..."prevail" is being used as "existence"...

Just wanting to verify that "for whom I exist" is the desired meaning
of your phrase. The phrase would be an expression of gratitude, I
presume, similar to the dedication of a book or poem, as in "To my
wife, for whom I live" or such?

Again, please forgive my nitpickery. It helps to have a thorough
understanding of your exact need.

Vale Veritasii -

I called a Latin scholar at my University. He said that "cui valeo"
is the closest (and literal) translation of "for whom I prevail." The
root of the word "prevail" is in fact "valere." Both Julius Caesar
and Cicero used "valere" for "prevail." The Latin may not be obscure,
but it is ancient!

I hope this has been helpful to you.
