We need to scan old maps, and large format scanners that are new are
expensive. However, we only need 300dpi, so an old one (but reliable)
might be just the thing. We need at least 24" wide, maybe bigger. Can
be sheet feed or flat. There were some old flat scanners made that the
Library of Congress used. They did large map books and ran at 300dpi.
Cost $50K back then. Probably huge and hard to support.

Find me a used scanner that I buy and I'll pay the fee.

Could you give a rough indication of the price range you're prepared
to work in? And also the maximum document thickness (if it's just
maps, I assume a fraction of an inch)? Finally, would you be prepared
to purchase a new one, if it met your price criteria?

Several are available on EBay. Here's an example search:

Hope this helps

Price range I'm looking for is $2-4K. Needs to scan paper
maps...thickness not much of an issue. Willing if new.
