Recently installed Flash MX and Dreamweaver MX on Mac G4 running OSX
10.1.4. I have three other exact systems running same config
flawlessly. On this system both programs crash immediately after
opening. Any known conflicts that would cause this? Suggestions on
fixing?

I do not want to answer this question on fear of being wrong, but if I
prove to be right, please allow me to answer this question.

I did some research on google groups and found what sounds to be the
issue you are having.

Make sure that there are no special characters in the path to the the
application and retry. these are special characters:
    ~  @  #  $  %  ^  &  *  (  )  +  |  /  \  '  ;

In the case of the poster, he had named his root directory "/", which
was causing Dreamweaver problems.

I also see that their may be a conflict between some setups of
Zone-Alarm and Dreamweaver MX. I can help you fix that too if you are
running that and that is the case.

Again, please tell me if this fixes the problem so that I may answer
it.

Thank you,
Todd

Todd,

Thanks for the research, but there are no character problems. I did a
little more digging into the studio's actions going back to the
original problem. Seems an artist added a client's font to Suitcase
on the day trouble began. After clearing all open fonts, and
restarting, both programs are opening properly.

I'm not sure how this all works, but I'll try and send the money your
way just the same.
