You do need to be careful when ordering computers or anything online. Please check out the company you plan on doing business with with the Better Business Bureau in the area where the company's located and with the state attorney general's office in the state where the company is based. Here are some stores that accept E-Mail orders for computer equipment: Hardware Planet. http://www.compwarehouse.com/ Retech Computer Equipment. http://www.retechcomputers.com/catalog/contact_us.php?osCsid=d63af6696aa90ee04e54b00f2ec0df57 A list of online computer sellers. http://www.infohq.com/Computer/Vendortable.htm Back through the future computers. http://www.backthruthefuture.com/online.htm Tiger Direct. http://www.tigerdirect.com/index.asp PCs For Everyone. http://www.pcsforeveryone.com/ Goodwin's Online Computer Store. http://www.angelfire.com/tx2/goodwin/ BD Tech. http://www.directcanada.com/email.cfm?sku=6471 Eagle Computer. http://saveateaglestore.site.yahoo.net/ Silver Bullet PC. http://www.silverbulletpc.com/ GiveMePower.com. http://www.givemepower.com/store.cfm I hope this helps! |

Most online shopping websites are secure sites which is noted by the lock icon at the bottom right of your browser (the same one you'll see here at Google Answers). Email on the other hand, unless you use some sort of encryption (PGP, etc...) is far less secure. |

Agree with deadlychiapet - online (internet) ordering is far safer than email: just look for that padlock to show you have a secure transmission. If you insist on email, then I suggest you contact the store of your choice and make sure they will accept an email order. Send TWO emails, the first containing the first eight digits of your credit card number and the second with the second eight digits. That way, if one email is intercepted, it is useless... You don't say in which country you are ordering from. If you ar in the US, try entering "computer stores" in Google, and otherwise adding your country as well. Good luck, read2live |

NEVER, ever give your credit card number via e-mail. Anyone can see this as it travels over the Internet. Virtually all online stores offer SSL, a level of security that encrypts your credit card number as it travels through the Internet and while it is on the store's server. Even if a hacker breaks into the server, it is still safe. |
