So, choose the places you like, check out the average precipitations

Well, since the question has been answered, I can push my favorites at
you with no shame. You want sun? You want to bake? You want no
danger of rain? You want the world's greatest diving? You want to be
just a few minutes from some of the most spectacular coral reefs to be
found anywhere?

You want the Red Sea.

Each of the following has a personal recommendation. But since we are
anonymous in here, that will mean very little. But for excellent
desert scenery, the Red Sea. For plenty of heat and sun, the Red Sea.
And I don't even have to mention the diving. The Red Sea has it all.

I'll start with the Grand Plaza Hotel in Hurghada, Egypt. Their
website is:
( http://grand-plaza.net/ ) - There is also a great little bar called
"peanuts" which is at the Three Corners Empire Hotel not far away. It
is a hangout for a lot of Germans, Brits and Americans. It can also
be crowded. You'll find a good selection of cafes, coffee shops,
restaurants, and nightlife. Hurghada has been one of my favorite
vacations spots for more than a decade.

Then I'll head you across the sea to Jordan and the Mövenpick Resort.
It only opened in 2000, so I have not seen it - - - - yet. But I will
pass on the experiences of two of my colleagues who have been there.
"It is 100% Arabian Nights pampering." Of course it has all the sun,
beaches, and diving trips expected with a Red Sea resort. their
website is :
( http://www.zaraholding.com/AQABA.htm ) - They are right next door to
the Royal Yacht Club. (funny, they would never let me in the place)

I cannot really recommend any hotels in Aqaba from personal experience
since I have always stayed with friends when there. However, the
community has luxury resort status and I'm sure they could not keep
that without offering first class accomodations.

Regardless of where you decide to go, try to wind up on the Red Sea.

Happy honeymooning!
