Question ID: 65127
I have a RH7.3 box with USB ports and a Palm M130 with USB cradle and
am trying to perform my first HotSync. The RH kernel is 2.4.18-3.

Seems from my reading that the thing to do is place the Palm in the
cradle, press the HotSync button on the cradle and then run a
pilot-xfer command on the PC.

I have a connection setup on the Palm as follows:

Connect to: PC
Via: Cradle/Cable
Speed: 9,600bps
Flow Ctl: Automatic

When I press the HotSync button on the cradle I get the messge:
"HotSync
Problem: Unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in
use by
another application."

Question
========

What are the likely reasons for this error message?

I only found one solution. If it works, great, I can give you an
official response. If not, maybe someone else is more versed on these
things.
