Hi inga,
Wow, you are an active family, aren't you? With volleyball being a
team sport it's unlikely you'll get a private lesson without first
joining a clinic or class and making your own private arrangements.
All the links below are for group lessons, so I understand if you
reject this as an answer.

Nabil Mardini is the head coach of Women's Volleyball and Pierce
College, and previously served as head coach of the Santa Monica
Volleyball Club. If anyone can direct you to a reputable coach or to
an organisation that's welcoming of new members, he can! You can
telephone him at Pierce College on (818) 710-4429. Alternately, you
could try faxing the Athletic Department on (818) 710-4143. As you are
paying for this information I would telephone him on your behalf,
except that I live in Australia and the cost of the call would be
enormous!

If you require further research from me please do not hesitate to ask
for clarification, you may of course reject my answer entirely if you
choose to do so.

Hi inga,
I have emailed a guy called Greg who has a website called
volleyballone.com, and asked him if he knows of anywhere in your area
that offers one-on-one coaching.
Pending a reply from Greg, you might like to try calling the American
Volleyball Coahes Association ( http://www.avca.org/ ). Their
telephone number is (719) 576-7777, their fax is (719) 576-7778, and
their mail address is 1227 Lake Plaza Drive, Suite B, Colorado
Springs, CO 80906. Sorry not to call them myself on your behalf, but
as I think I've mentioned to you before I'm in Australia.
I have also found a link to 'California Community College Women's
Volleyball Coaches Association'
http://www.coasports.org/Women_s_Volleyball/cccwvca_app.pdf.
Perhaps if you contact them they would know of coaches who give
private lessons in your area. The only contact details are a mailing
address, which is as follows: Kanoe Bandy (Treasurer), Taft College,
29 Emmons Park Drive, Taft CA 93268. I looked up their phone number
for you, it's 661-763-7700.
I'm sorry not to be able to provide you with anything more than links
to people who might know of one-on-one coaches, as volleyball is a
team sport people tend to advertise themselves on-line as being 'coach
of Team X' rather than as an individual lesson giver.
Sorry not to have helped more; if you are terribly dissatisfied please
reject my answer and give another researcher the chance to help you.
Best wishes,
shananigans-ga
