I am a big guy (6'5" and 300#) and have a terrible time finding eye glass frames that fit, at least in styles that I like. My particular problems are width and the length of the arms (it seems that the longest "stock" arms are 155 and I require a 160 ??) I would love to find the style worn by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld / Harry S Truman (gold arms attached directly to glass lens). Thanks. :-) |

Dear weisstho-ga Thank you for your very challenging question to find Gold Arm rimless glasses attached directly to their lens. There is a manufacturer that specializes in rimless glasses called FOCUSERS . I contacted FOCUSERS customer service and they advised that they carry extra long cables which are called Tuxedo cables. Tuxedo cables start at 135mm but stretch out to 160mm. Samples of Focusers classical rimless glasses: Premier Line: http://www.focusers.com/premierrimless.htm Traditional styles: http://www.focusers.com/traditionalrimless.htm To order a Free Catalog http://www.focusers.com/catalogrequest.html Customer service information center: 1-800-332-3534 information@focusers.com Additional information: Custom order a hand crafted frames: http://www.spectechsantamonica.com/airtitanium/rimless/ I hope this have proven helpful to you and if you require more information please feel free to request further clarifcation(s) Thank you Seeker |

I believe that the glasses that Donald Rumsfield has are most likely Kazuo Kawasaki frames (purely based on looking at them during his press conferences). You may want to ask your local eyeglass store for samples of those frames. What's nice about them is that you can choose the color for the arms, the style of the nose bridge, and then you have complete freedom to design the shape of the lenses as you see fit. I would presume that the arms would come in a number of different lengths since the glasses are "mix-and-match" in their assembly. |
