Hi calisilverfox,

There are so many fonts in use today! When trying to identify a
particular font, it helps to examine the letters in the font for
telltale signs – things that make the font look different from other
fonts. In the case of the CSI logo, the slant of the S’s middle bar
can help.

I believe that the font used for the CSI logo is called
Clicker-Regular. A sample of this font can be seen at MyFonts.com,
here: http://www.myfonts.com/FontStyle8611.html

(You can also ‘testdrive’ the font, typing in your own words to see
how they appear in the font: http://www.myfonts.com/Testdrive?id=8611
)

Another font which may be used in the show's titles (and which appears
extensively on CSI’s home page at CBS) is a font called Handel
Gothic.

An example of this font can be seen here:
http://www.myfonts.com/FontStyle306.html

I hope this is what you were looking for. If you need more, just let
me know.

Search strategy:
To identify these fonts, I used MyFonts.com’s excellent ‘WhatTheFont’
utility, (http://www.myfonts.com/whatthefont/ ), which can search for
fonts given sample letters or text that you upload.

Another site that can identify fonts is http://www.identifont.com : it
works by asking a series of questions about the details of the font -
shapes of letters etc.
