I am looking for the title of a short film that was shown on one of the premium movie channels a few months ago. The premise was that a car thief is trying to get into a car in a car deck/garage and the cars alarm goes off and then there is a voice attached to the alarm that actually starts to converse with the thief in an amorous way. Eventually the guy pulls his pants down and inserts his you know what into the gas tank right when the police show up. It is really very cute and I wanted to see if it is available as a short etc so I can show some friends. Like I said I do not have the name or writer/director etc and would like to try and find it on the internet if possible. thanks |

Hi there, The title of the short film is "P.1" "A man wanders, on foot, into an underground parking lot. His footsteps echo against the cold, gray concrete. Finally, he spots his objective: an Audi, parked alone in the recesses of P1. The man smiles and pulls a thin piece of metal from his pocket. He approaches the car, sliding the metal gently down into the door, his face showing ecstasy as it catches on the lock, flipping it open. Gingerly, he reaches for the door handle, opening it for the pleasures awaiting him--and then the alarm goes OFF! The man runs away...but the car beckons him back. What follows is a pastiche of the dating ritual (found in bars nationwide) of a man meeting and seducing a woman...and the aftermath of such a conquest." http://216.239.33.100/search?q=cache:zZkhd-Pn-IwC:filmson.com/CDA/Summary/StandardSummary/1,1352,3404~8,00.html%3FPage%3DFilmListings%26Title%3DP.1+%22gas+tank%22+car+alarm+film&hl=en&ie=UTF-8 The above link is from the Google Cache - unfortunately that site and page are no longer in operation, which is a shame because it was previously possible to view the film there. It has screened on Lube TV: http://lubetv.org/Ep22.htm I tried a number of web sites, but it does not appear to be available for viewing online. http://directory.google.com/Top/Arts/Movies/Multimedia/Video/Short_Films/ The contact details for the director are: Seth Wiley 1252 N. Crescent Heights #2 Los Angeles, CA 90046 phone: 323-656-0509 email: gravyshanks@yahoo.com http://216.239.33.100/search?q=cache:emD9asNwhsgC:www.slamdance.com/2001/festival/person_detail.asp%3Fperson_id%3D344+%22Seth+Wiley%22&hl=en&ie=UTF-8 Search strategy: "gas tank" car alarm film Best wishes, robertskelton-ga |

I tried another site and the movie failed to play there too. Perhaps when the rights got bought, they had to take it off. Another short picture by Seth Wiley: http://www.tollboothmovie.com/ |

yea, I've been trying all of the sites I can find now that I know the name of the film. Anyway, I did send the director/writer an email asking about it's availabiity and where I might watch it. I'll post his response if he writes me back. |

Well, what do you know, the director sent me an email that pointed me in the right direction! Here is his email to me: >brad, >thanks for your email. the short shows on HBO from time to time and you >can find it there with little trouble. it's represented by a company >called Hypnotic, who you may contact to see if they can get you a copy. >the web address is www.hypnotic.com. I'm sorry I don't have a better >answer on how to obtain a copy, but I do encourage you to check it out >on HBO when it's convenient for you. >thanks for the feedback. >s anyway, I then went to HBO's web site and actually found that it is showing on Cinemax Tuesday the 24th of September at 1:50 pm and also on the 29th of September (Sunday). I'm setting my video recorder and hopefully I'll get the sucker!! what a scream ... |
