Hello pip12-ga,

Thank you for your question.

The following games are included with Windows XP:

Classic Hearts
Classic Solitaire
FreeCell
Minesweeper
Pinball
Spider Solitaire
Internet Backgammon
Internet Checkers
Internet Hearts
Internet Reversi
Internet Spades

I never use the games that are included with Windows XP, so I followed
the instructions below to remove them and it worked perfectly. The
whole process wasn’t complicated and it only took me a couple of
minutes to do. The games can only be reinstalled using the Windows XP
CD.

To remove games from Windows XP:

1. Go to Control Panel / Click on Add or Remove Programs / then press
Add/Remove Windows Components which is on the left.

2. Highlight the Accessories and Utilities line and press Details.

3. If the Games box is checked and the background of the check box is
white, all games are installed. To uninstall all the games, uncheck
the Games box and press OK and Next.

4. If the Games box is checked and the background of the check box is
white, highlight the Games line, press Details, and uncheck the boxes
of the games you wish to uninstall. Press OK, OK, and Next.

5. If the Games box is checked and the background of the check box is
gray, uncheck the Games box to uninstall all the installed games.
Press OK and Next.

6. If the Games box is checked and the background of the check box is
gray, highlight the Games line and press Details. Uncheck the boxes
next to the games you wish to uninstall and press OK, OK, and Next.

7. Press Finish and Close.

On many Windows NT, 2000 and XP computers, the "i386" folder, from the
Windows installation CD is also on the hard disk. This is all that's
necessary to reinstall any of the standard games, or any other
standard Windows programs, without using the Windows installation CD.
They can be reinstalled by just checking one or more of the check
boxes described above by bobbie7-ga on 16 Sep 2002 16:50 PDT.

So the only way to prevent someone from reinstalling any program that
was uninstalled as described above, is to make sure the "i386" folder
is not on the computer's hard disk.
