Hello jazzsinger -
I should have caught that sooner. Please excuse my uncommon haste and
excitement in answering your question. I too am a musician - a
guitarist of 12+ years, and I let my experience in this field misguide
me.
As I stated in my answer clarification - I would still find you an
appropriate answer to your question when asked for clarification, so
here is what I came up with:
Excerpt taken from Yahoo Shopping Compilation
http://shopping.yahoo.com/shop?d=product&id=1921405111&clink=dmmu.artist
"...compiles 25 of the earliest sides issued by the label's collective
brain trust: songwriters Buddy DeSylva, Johnny Mercer, and record shop
proprietor Glenn Wallichs."
As you can see this is the same album I referred you to in my first
answer. Had I not gotten so excited, I would have read this in depth
to discover that all the songs on the album are composed with/by one
of the two men listed above ( and below) :
Johnny Mercer
Buddy DeSylva
The site excerpt also mentions that Capitol records gained sucess
under it's name brand using songs that were from movies. This song
appeared in the movie "Something to Shout About", released in 1943,
amazingly the same year as the song was sung by Six Hits and a Miss.
We know that the song was written by Cole Porter, but we also know
that one of the guys up top had to of composed this version for
Capital Records - thus allowing them to release the compilation under
thier record label name.
This link confirms Cole Porter Covers by Mercer

This confirms his invlovement with vocal arrangements on the same
album
http://shopping.yahoo.com/shop?d=product&id=1927162368&clink=dmmu.artist&a=wv
He also did vocals on some of Coles works

I was unable to find the vocal arrangement as done on the album by Six
Hits & A Miss, but at least we know he was involved to a great length,
almost certainly composing this version.
I will be calling Capitol Records on Monday - October 21st, to get you
a definitive answer, and help you track down this composition.
Thank you -
