Method #1.

Buy some commercial wallpaper cleaner or art gum. It is a dough-like
material which you rub over surface of the stain. Be sure to follow
the instructions carefully; perhaps even try testing its effectiveness
on a place usually not seen, such as behind furniture, just to see how
it affects paper. Vacuum or brush off any bits of cleaner that stay on
wall.

Method #2.

For removing grease spots, start by holding clean white blotters or
several white paper towels over spot and press with warm iron until
grease is absorbed by towels.

Method #3.

For non-washable papers, gently wipe the stain with a cloth moistened
with denatured alcohol or spot remover. This method is good for small
stains but it should be known that some spot remover products are
strong and you may want to dilute them first, testing the strength of
the solution carefully . As well, these liquids are flammable. And the
vapors can be toxic. So take precautions. Be sure there is no flame,
spark, or pilot light in area, have plenty of ventilation.

Method #4.

A good homemade remedy for removing grease stains is to apply a paste
consisting of cleaning fluid and cornstarch or whiting. Let the paste
dry and brush off, repeating the treatment until the spot is gone.

Method #5.

To remove water stains from non-washable fabric, gently scratch off
the mineral deposits with your fingernail. Then hold a steaming
teakettle under the spot until well-dampened. As it dries, rub the
stain, working from its outer edges toward the center.
