Hi ciao: (that kinda sounds funny...) ;-)

The over-riding conversion that you want to use is: 

1000 meters (m) = 1 kilometer (km)

Therefore, 10 meters = 10/1000 kilometers = .01 kilometers. 

To put the same thing in the terms you stated above:

10 m = .01 km

Hi ciao:

One of my fellow researchers just tipped me off that you might have
meant to convert 10 *miles* to kilometers...

IF that is the case, then the proper conversion factor is:

1 mile = 1.61 kilometers

Therefore:

10 miles = 16.1 kilometers
