Hi Davious-ga,

Thank you for your question.

My search returned the following results for the percentage of
Internet users that are still using Netscape 4.

======================================================================

The Counter Website reports that 2% of Internet users are still using
Netscape 4.

The Counter has many monthly stats for sites that use its hit counter.
These sites do not include many popular sites. Stats go back for
several years, so they can be used to study trends.

Browser Stats (September 1-18, 2002)

1. MSIE 5.x 47%
2. MSIE 6.x 42%
3. Netscape 4.x 2%
4. MSIE 4.x 2%
5. Netscape comp. 1%
6. Opera x.x 1%
7. Netscape 5.x 0%
8. Netscape 6.x 0%
9. Unknown 0%
10. Netscape 3.x 0%
11. MSIE 2.x 0%
12. MSIE 3.x 0%
13. Netscape 2.x 0%

According to Browser News, 2.8% of Internet users use Netscape 4.

An excerpt from the article by Chuck Upsdell:

“Netscape 4.x: 2.8% of page accesses, down from 6% a year ago. This
percentage should continue to shrink steadily.”

Browser Stats
         Source 1 Source 2 Source 3
IE6 43% 46% 39%
IE5 48% 37% 37%
IE4 2.3% 1.2% .8%
NN4 2.8% 5.9% 3.3%
NN3 .05% .15% .05%
Opera .95% 1.1% .75%

Note:

Source 1 stats are from sites that use a hit counter, which excludes
many popular, professionally-made sites. Like many stats sources, it
reports many users of non-existent NN5.

Source 2 stats, from EWS has browser stats of its visitors. Note that
EWS counts hosts rather than page accesses, which are not strictly
comparable.

Source 3 stats are from (www.upsdell.com): because of its special
audience, its stats apply to a narrow segment of the population.

Here's a trend chart showing browsers used to access the Google search
engine:

Google Press Center: Zeitgeist
://www.google.com/press/zeitgeist.html

The vertical axis is unlabelled, but it looks as if each tickmark
represents 5%, which means that "Netscape 4.x" and "Other" are each
around 5%.
