Hi Honeybearwag,

Thank you for your question.

The terms on your bank statement have the following meanings:

Abbreviation Description

VRU PYMT Voice Response Unit Payment
VRU XFERS Voice response Unit Transfers

Voice Response Unit or (VRU) is a term used in Telebanking.

Voice Response Unit allows you to access your account from a
Touch-Tone Phone for your account activity information, or to perform
an account transaction such as payments and transfers.

The following excerpt illustrates the abbreviation of VRU.

“Our fully-staffed customer service call center offers the best of
personal service and automated Voice Response Unit (VRU) technology.

account transfers any time. Our convenient (800) number allows easy

Bobbie7 has provided you with excellent information.

An additional note:

VRU XFER refers to the kind of transaction where you (or someone who
has access to the account) had requested, over the bank's automated
phone line, that a sum of money be transferred from your Savings
Account to your Checking Account, or vice-versa. VRU PYMT refers
perhaps to a transaction where you requested via the automated phone
line that your bank take money out of your account to make a payment
on your mortgage or other loan with that same bank.

If you ever see something on your statement that you don't understand,
call your bank's Customer Service Center immediately (the phone number
should be printed somewhere on your statement as well as posted on
their website, if they have one). They will be glad to explain for
free anything you don't understand, and to help you resolve the
problem if someone has made unauthorized transactions on your account.

Hope this helps!
