In 1989, Peter Brooks did a film version of the Mahabharata. It came
with a booklet that listed the main characters (the Pandavas, the
Kuravas, the main gods) and who they were. Unfortuneately I have lost
the booklet I am going to show the film
to my Non Western Lit class and would love to give them the list of
characters to help them keep track of the story. Is there anyplace I
could look for a listof main characters of the Mahabharata? We are
also using Wm Buck's translation of the Mahabharata, but it doesn't
include a list of characters. aleadbet@mesastate.edu

Hi there,

This website, from MiraCosta College in California, seems to have
exactly what you are looking for, especially the first link:

Mahabharata Family Chart

Historical Background of the Mahabharata and Online Texts
http://www.miracosta.cc.ca.us/home/gfloren/mahabharata.htm

Shiva/Siva--Parvati-Ganesha

Krishna
http://www.miracosta.cc.ca.us/home/gfloren/krishna.htm

Peter Brook's film version

Search strategy:

Found the list of characters in the Internet Movie Database:
http://us.imdb.com/Credits?0097810

Then Google:
Duryodhana Dhritharashtra Yudhishthira
://www.google.com/search?q=Duryodhana+Dhritharashtra+Yudhishthira

I trust this answers your question. If any portion of my answer is
unclear, please ask for clarification.

Best wishes,
