Hello yru2l82cataoldotcom, The figure you seek plus a host of other fascinating statistics appeared in Harper's Magazine in 1998 in an article by Annie Dillard, "The wreck of time: Taking our century's measure. Harper's Magazine 296(1772): 51-56. The figures are listed at http://webhost.bridgew.edu/jhayesboh/Morefood.htm which is maintained by Dr. James-Kezar IV Hayes-Bohanan who teaches environmental geography at Bridgewater State College, Massachusetts. According to these figues, there have been 125,000 generations since the emergence of the first Homo species, and 7,500 generations of humans since the emergence of Homo sapiens. Civilization started only 500 generations ago. The number of people who have ever lived is 85,000,000,000.
