Question ID: 67405
I am interested in find a recording or lyrics to a song that was
popular with the new age crowd in the late 80's. The song was entitled
"You're an Angel" and the chorus has the words "You'are an angel and
you know it is true". I cannot remember anymore of the song but know
it was available on cassette.
I would appreciate your help. Thanks

hello,

I think this is the one you are looking for. The song as you say is
called "You're an Angel" and it was written and performed by a Charlie
Thweatt.

I first searched "New Age" with "angel and/or lyrics" it first came up
with this
site

specialised ministries
http://www.newthought.net/guide/ministries.htm
As this is quite a large page and i had noticed from the search
results the name Charley Thweatt in conjunction with the "You're an
Angel" song, i pressed CTRL F to search the page for "Thweatt". This
takes you his name which is above a brief description confirming his
responsibility for a "popular" song with the title you are after.

If you click on his name you will be taken to
Music Angel
http://www.musicangel.com/ from there if you click tapes and CD's you
will be whisked to
http://www.musicangel.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PLST&Store_Code=CA

On this page you will note that there is an album on cassette on sale
for $10.00 near the bottom entitled "Life on the Planet is Fun"

On this album is your song i believe and just to make sure there is a
hyperlink which will enable you to listen to the wave file. By
remarkable coincidence the sample track is the very one you are
looking for.

I hope it is the right one and that you enjoy it.

Johnny Phoenix.

Simular but not correct. I think this was before madonna came on the
scene. In fact I do not listen to her records.
