I would like you to find me the exact reference to Nauftin et al
(1973) who reported that Dr. Fox, a professional actor who gave a
lecture in an enthusiastic manner but devoid of meaningful content,
received favourable student ratings.

Dear Zig and other researchers: 

The only online source that refers to that study in this fashion (et
al 1973) mentions not this study, but a quote of the study that
appears in:

Centra, J. A. (1993). Reflective faculty evaluation: Enhancing
teaching and determining faculty effectiveness. San Francisco:
Jossey-Bass.

I am afraid that I cannot afford to seek this quote in the library for
$1.5, but I am sure others might benefit from this information.
