The following includes the general information you want about import
duties on gold jewelry, etc. However, note that many times there are
exceptions to these general rules. The exceptions are governed by
specific trade agreements or treaties with specific countries or
companies.

1. Go to

Tariff and Tax Information
How to Get U.S. Import Duty Information

http://www.trade.gov/td/tic/tariff/import_duties.htm

These, and some of the following pages, also include telephone numbers
you can call for assistance.

2. Click on link for “Import Duties” on left side of screen, or

http://www.trade.gov/td/tic/tariff/import_duties.htm

3. Click on the link

For on-line tariff information click here for the complete “U.S.
Harmonized Tariff Schedule in PDF format”.

You'll need the Adobe reader to read PDF. This is available free on
line if you don't have it, I think at Adobe.com.

4. Page down to SECTION XIV: NATURAL OR CULTURED PEARLS, PRECIOUS OR
SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES, PRECIOUS METALS, METALS CLAD WITH PRECIOUS METAL
AND ARTICLES THEREOF; IMITATION JEWELRY; COIN

Click on Chapter 71 link:

Chapter 71 Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious
stones, precious metals, metals clad with precious metal and articles
thereof; imitation jewelry; coin

Or go to:

http://dataweb.usitc.gov/scripts/tariff/0204c71.pdf

Hope this helps!
