still living and if so how can I contact him? If not, where can I get
his obituary information?

A couple of things to consider --

1) If William Patch is alive, we are not permitted to give you any
personal information about him; e.g contact information.

2) William Patch is a common name. A brief search of the obituary
archives nets over 20 results. To narrow this down we would need a
middle name, approximate age, and any other information you can
supply.

Since we may not provide contact information, what will you consider
to be an acceptable answer?

Gen. William B. Patch fought in the Korean War as a 1st lieutenant.
He was assigned in July of 1950 to HQ Co., 19th Infantry regiment of
the 24th. He was wounded in January 1951. Supposedly he retired in
1977 from the post of commander of Ft. Dix, NJ, and returned to his
home in one of the Carolinas. Any more specific into about him (even
if not his current address) would be welcome. I especially want to
know if he's still living. My brother-in-law saved his life in Korea
and wants to know about him.
