Do you mean that we fill in the field "current page" in your webpage
with today's date instead of the current "Mandatory" text?

Hi secret901-ga, thanks for takin interest. i just quickly uploaded
the form as i've been using it. but i will take out the "Mandatory"
part once i can figure out how to get the javascript to automaticly
fillin the date for the user. i don't want the user to have to
manually place in the date, i'd like it it so that everytime the page
is loaded the date is already filled out for them, and since the date
is placed in there is should be passed with the form. i was trying to
keep my question brief and to the point. sorry for not being not being
more detailed.

Hi, I have made the Javascript version of the page for you, but made
one change to your page:
The dietable.date name has a "." in it, making it really hard for
Javascript to understand when referring to it. Would you mind if I
change the name of this field to something else, without the period?
Your form indicates that you want the year to be 2 digits, while your
question indicates that it is 4. Which one is correct?
I can also customize that field to make it so that the customer can
not edit it, so that whenever they click on it, it will restore the
original date.

Never mind what I said earlier. Here's the new page:
http://www.ics.uci.edu/~dhnguyen/GoogleHelp.htm
It automatically fills in the date in this format mm/dd/yyyy in that
form. The user can not edit that form (if you want the user to be
able to, let me know). No variable name were changed.
Thanks.

Thanks for your nice rating. You can download the file where the user
can edit the date at the page you specified.
I have tested both pages on Internet Explorer and Mozilla (latest
versions), but have not yet tested it on Netscape.
Thanks

that was perfect. Thank you so much. thanks for being quick too.

paul (if you want to build me a
"http://www.ics.uci.edu/~dhnguyen/GoogleHelp2.htm" that lets the user
alter the date, that would be cool.) thanks again.....
