Since there are no databases for "formers" in general, you'd have to
be more specific on whom you want to contact. Some of them have a
public office, where you can contact them, while others became "real"
private persons and giving away their email address would probably be
a breach of privacy.

As stated in my initial question, I am looking for the email addresses
of Al Gore, Bill Clinton and Mario Cuomo. I added an "etc." meaning
that I am interested in data bases that may help me find the addresses
of other formerly elected officials or public personages.

There are a number of sites that purport to provide e-mail addresses
for celebrities, including politicians.  They don't appear to be
updated very well, though, as the few I examined show Gore's addresses
for when he was VP.  But looking through the sites from this search
may give you or one of the other researchers what you're looking for.
