I'm having difficulty locating any information about any Buddhist sect
with either of those names. Could you provide a little more
information about where you heard (or read) about this?

I happened to have the Animal Planet on the other day. They were
interviewing K. D. Lang. She was speaking about animals being our
connection to the spiritual world and mentioned that she was a
Pampeast?, Pampiest?, Pampiast?, Buddhist. I do not know how the word
is spelled, but that is the way it sounded. I did find a site that
mentioned Pampean Buddhism. I think it was a newsletter, but I lost
the site and could never find it again. Hope this helps you in your
search. Thanks.

Hello.

Okay, kd lang was probably saying that she is a "pantheist" Buddhist.

Here a collection of quotes by and about kd lang, using that term:

From a Rolling Stone interview:
"I'm sort of a pantheist; I see God in everything, whether it's a pair
of runing shoes or a whale."
http://home.macau.ctm.net/~tina71/articles/rs01.htm

From the web page, "kd's image change":
"People described her as an icon of lesbian. Others picked up those
words like feminist, vegetarian, pantheist, and animal-lover"
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Hills/6880/kdintro.htm

From the article "Constantly Craving" by Steve Pond:
"When you're dealing with a country/pop/jazz/rock singer, an activist
vegetarian and out lesbian, a onetime performance artist and sometime
actress, a pantheist who once called herself the reincarnation of
Patsy Cline, a restless musical adventurer, it never is. The world of
k.d. lang is always more complicated, richer, more rewarding."

Pantheism is not a formal Buddhist sect. Rather, pantheism is "the
religious belief or philosophical theory that God and the Universe are
identical (implying a denial of the personality and transcendence of
God); the doctrine that God is everything and everything is God."
Source: Oxford English Dictionary, listed on:
http://www.harrison.dircon.co.uk/pandefin.htm

"In general, Buddhists are pantheistic in their view of God. Many view
God as an impersonal force which is made up of all living things and
holds the universe together." Source: Buddhism by Pat Zukeran
