Simon,

What I've been able to find is the size of the indoor plant market for
1998 and 1999. Is this what you are looking for? I couldn't tell
what else would constitute the indoor plant supplies other than 'plant
containers', which figures I also found but are not separated between,
say, indoor and outdoor plant containers.

The numbers ($million) for the lawn and garment sector I've found are
broken down into the following categories.
lawn care
landscaping
flower gardening
vegetable gardening
shrub care
indoor plants
insect control
container gardening
other
- water gardens
- flower bulbs
- raising transplants
- fruit trees
- herb gardening
- growing berries

Let me know of this would satisfy your request.

Ideally what I want to know is the market size in dollars for the
plant food and pots part of the house plant market. But if you can
find the total market size for plants and assessories it would be
useful.

Simon,

I found the "U.S. household lawn and garden product category retail
sales" broken down into the categories I listed above. These include
"indoor plants" and "container gardening", but not the plant food. I
think that plant food is incorporated according to the other
categories, somehow. Also, I am not very familiar with gardening, so I
cannot say if containter gardening means plants, or containers, or
everything associated with that. I would assume it is.

Let me know if this interests you,
Claudietta
