augers and snakes are made in the most part by companies such as Rigid
Tool Company, Spartan Tool and General Wire & Spring. They are used to
clear clogs and obstructions from water pipes and drains. They are
priced at retail in the $200 to $1,000 range. I am seeking the United
States industry's annual sales in units (preferred) or $ for the most
recent year available and 2-3 prior years if possible.

these devices also called cable drain cleaning machines. If not units
sales, then $ sales or at least the sales of the industry.

JWC,

1) In what industry or industires are these tools used?
2) is a 'snake' the same as an auger, or is there a more formal name to a snake?

these products are used for cleaning drains and pipes and mostly used
by plumbers and maintenance people. They are used in toliets, sinks,
tubs and floor drains.

Snakes, augurs, cable drain cleaning tools are all the same item. They
get "snaked" into a pipe and are rotated against the clog until the
clog is destroyed and the water again runs freely.

as to industries, they are used anywhere toilets, etc are found.
Company's who buy these are national companies such as mr Rooter,
Router Rooter and plumbing contractors. They are sold via internet and
plumbing whosalers

Dear JWC,

I just wanted to let you know that I searched for the requested
information and didn't find it. The closest information I was able to
find was the units/sales of those augers used in the agricultural
field, and those used for analytical reasons (perhaps geotechnical).

Gook luck, and sorry for the lack of success,

Claudietta
