Am looking for a model name, model number, years of production and/or
any other details that will allow me to positively identify (and
eventually price) the model of this watch. Somewhat blurry photo is
available by email. In the meantime, details are:
- Manufacturer is Wittnauer
- Cream watch face
- No numbers
- Inverted traingle markers at 12, 3,6 and 9
- Rectangles at other hours
- Triangles and rectangles are the cream face, inverse cut from a
reflective silver circle on the face
- No other writing other than Wittnauer on the face (all caps)
- Cross-hair lines running from 12 to 6 and 9 to 3
- Luminiscent (at one time?) dots at each hour, just a bit closer to
the center than the silver band
- Dots seperated by light minute lines
- Chrome bezel
- No markings on back (may be a replacement backing)

acsteele...

Just to clarify, researchers are not permitted to have email
contact with clients of Google Answers. Is there a way you
can post the image to a webpage (though it may not be
necessary, due to your detailed description)?

I checked every result in a Google Image search for Wittnauer and none matched.

Hi acsteele,
After doing extensive research on this particular watch, there isn't
much I can tell you except it is most probably a Wittnauer
Continental. I assume this because all leather strapped wittnauers are
found in this series. I presume this watch is an older model because
it is not found on any wittnauer sites. The closest I came to are
found on these pages:
http://www.inventoryadjusters.com/wittnauer-watches.htm
3rd row from the bottom on the left

http://www.ashford.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=1065735&cp=1062439.1062439

Here you find descriptions of the various 'continental' series but
unfortunately none match yours:
http://luxuryin.com/watches/Wittnauer_Continental_Watches.html

The Wittnauer web site is under construction but I'll keep checking
for an update.

I'll let you know if I find any new information on your watch.

Regards,
rainbow-ga
