Zakouto was an auto mechanic, and had no relation to online blackjack,
as far as I can see from news reports of his trial and conviction.

Since the crime occurred in Las Vegas, it could be that online
gambling sites stuffed Zakouto's name into their keywords, in order to
drive Vegas-oriented traffic to their sites.

It's an old spammers trick, but it still seems to work, for some. You
can see the use of his name, in a totally nonsensical context, at the
bottom of this blackjack site:

Is that the sort of information you're looking for?

I know Vitale and Marina Cannon was my best friend since second grade
(like a sister). Her murdered her Dec. 23, 2000. Since he was a
compulsive gambler with a toxic family my inquiry had to do with the
nature of the blogs with online black jack. But, if you think it has
no relation to the site I accept your explanation. The blogs had a
dark quality to me and I was wondering what the purpose of the story
line was.

taweyah-ga,

I'm not going to post this as an answer (hence, you won't be charged)
since I'm not very well-versed in website design, or the techniques
used to fool search engines.

From what I understand though, a site might be stuffed with
non-related terms for two key reasons:

--to attract certain searchers, such as those who might be searching
for the phrase [e.g. vitaly zakouto ]

--to avoid being automatically identified as a spam-site. If a site
contains only certain terms related to undesirable activities, e.g,
gambling or pornography, many search engines will downgrade it as they
index the web. By adding non-related terms -- particularly news items
-- some sites hope to increase their visibility to the search engines.

I suspect this is the only reason that Zakouto's name appears on some
of the sites you've seen. However, it's only my best guess, and I
can't be 100% certain of this.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. From the little I read of
this case, she sounded like a sterling person.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you on this.
