I have a doctor's order to get a sweat test for my 4-year-old son to
see if he has cystic fibrosis. I need to find a place in Northern VA
(not Children's hospital in DC) that can do the test soon (within a
week). I need a phone number where a real human being will answer who
can actually schedule the test. No voice mail, no useless computer
menus please (unless you know what buttons to press to get the exact
person who can help me). Please try the number first before you post
your answer. Note, we want a Cystic Fibrosis sweat test. This is where
they apply to the skin a chemical and an electric current to stimulate
sweat. Then they collect the sweat in a pad for analysis of the sodium
chloride (salt) content. We do not want a blood test, a stool test or
a DNA analysis. This is a very specialized test and your typical Qwest
Diagnostics and LabCorps doesn't do it. I think they do them at
Fairfax Hospital in VA but we can't find a real human to actually
schedule it. This is why we need your help. Also, if you can determine
if the place accepts Alliance PPO insurance that would be helpful.
