I am researching building a website that will allow users to SMS message one another through the site. The site will be similar to the likes of www.textmelater.com or www.dadamobile.com. My specific question is what back-end service do these websites use to send text messages to different phone numbers of different carriers and how do these web sites send sms messages without being charged by the cellular phone companies? I am not a programmer, but if there are open source back-end solutions or other software solutions that I can be directed to, than that would help me to understand the nature of setting up a web site service that does SMS messaging. Additionally any other contact information about setting up such a service with U.S. cellular companies would be helpfull too. |
