Hello groendog2-ga,

I deeply sympathize with you. Working a show in a large convention
center like McCormick can be exhausting.

The maps for the facility are available here:

Click on McCormick Place North to get the layout for each of the four
levels. Choose the level you're interested in. I think you must be on
Level 1 or Level 3, the ones with the large exhibition halls. Click on
the floorplans to get the exact measurements and use the conversion
table to find the equivalent feet converted to miles.

McCormick Place North Building: Level 1

http://www.mccormickplace.com/newwindow.cfm?pic=NorthLvl1
Hall C1 272' x 476'
476 feet = 0.09 miles
272 feet = 0.05 miles

Hall C2 192' x 295
192 feet = 0.04 miles
272 feet = 0.05 miles

Hall C1 and C2 combined 668' x 272'
668 feet = 0.13

Depending on which of the halls you were walking, end-to-end you
walked about 1 to 1 1/2 miles each time you walked the length of the
hall. If you were walking the combined Halls B1 and B2 on Level 3 from
one end to the other you were walking over 2 miles each trip.

McCormick Place North Building -- Level 3

Hall B1 272' x 476'
790 feet = 0.15 miles
452 feet = 0.09 miles

Hall B2 192' x 295
326 feet = 0.06 miles
335 feet = 0.06 miles

Hall B1 and B2 combined 1116'
1116 feet = 0.21 miles

The links I've provided should help you figure out exactly how many
miles you covered depending on where your show was located at
McCormick. I hope you can kick back and relax and recover from your
long hike.

All the best.
