If there was a Landlords 5 Day notice served for non payment of rent, and the tenants moved out prior to the court date and the case was dismissed, what type's of permnanent records exist. Meaning, if the tenant tried to rent an apartment and the landlord used one of the tenant screening companies, would this show up? If so, how would someone go about getting this expunged? Does the tenant have to file for an expungement? If the landlord and the tenant had come to an agreement, hence the case being dismissed, can the landlord file for an expungement? Lastly, what is the general time frame for an expungement? | |

You will be able to help the researcher if you can specify what jurisdiction the event happened in (e.g. state/province) and approximate year. The law will vary... |

Only criminal matters get expunged. Civil matters stay on the record forever. |

No matter what? The records cannot be sealed or removed in any circumstances? |
