That actually isn't a simple question to answer, or at least it's
not simply answered with what's readily available on the Honeywell
website. I replaced my regular thermostat awhile ago, and ended up
having to return one, having not read the fine print on the back
of the package indicating whether the Honeywell programmable I
bought was compatible with a heat pump system.

You're right to pick Honeywell, though. I researched digital
thermostats before replacing mine, and Honeywell stomped the
competition in being able to keep the temperature within 1
degree of the setting chosen. Others were considerable less
accurate, which I found when I bought another model *before*
researching accuracy. That one went back, too.

The thing is, there are innumerable late-model Honeywell
programmable thermostats which will work to replace your
current thermostat, as we shall see.

Searching Honeywell for the CT51A, I found the following:

Clicking on the product numbers that offered that option
returned "no results found":

During the weekly business hours, you may be able to talk

reading this answer, you may not need to.

Honeywell's own site simply narrows down to 7-day, 5-2 day,
and 5-1-1 day programmable thermostats on the following page:
http://yourhome.honeywell.com/Consumer/Cultures/en-US/Products/Thermostats/Programmable/Do-It-Yourself/Default.htm

You then select one of those, depending on whether you want
to be able to program every day of the week separately, the
weekdays and the weekend separately, or the weekdays, Saturday
and Sunday separately.

If you picked the 5-2 day, you end up on this page:
http://yourhome.honeywell.com/Consumer/Cultures/en-US/Products/Thermostats/Programmable/Do-It-Yourself/5-2/Default.htm

...with an offer to find a retailer, rather than any discussion
of available model numbers. Since you can't order directly from
Honeywell, you're pretty much stuck with what's available at
Home Depot, Ace Hardware, or other retailers, anyway. A trip to
them will let you see the actual packages, which can help you
decide which ones will work for you. But we can give it a go
here, too.

So lets go to Home Depot online. They indicate having two
Honeywell programmable thermostats on the following page,
a 5-2 day, and a 7 day:
http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS/EN_US/diy_main/pg_diy.jsp?CNTTYPE=PROD_META&CNTKEY=misc%2fsearchResults.jsp&BV_SessionID=@@@@1377172799.1140909891@@@@&BV_EngineID=cceeaddhdljfdhhcgelceffdfgidgnl.0&MID=9876

Now we can go to the product search page on Honeywell:
http://customer.honeywell.com/Honeywell/CatalogNavigator.aspx?Definition=AdvancedSearch&ChannelID=%7B19E09D82-D02E-440F-A296-07BE5D203786%7D

This is the result page for RTH6300B, the 5-2 day model:
http://customer.honeywell.com/Honeywell/CatalogNavigator.aspx?Definition=Search&Catalog=&ChannelID=%7B19E09D82-D02E-440F-A296-07BE5D203786%7D&ReturnUrl=http://customer.honeywell.com/Honeywell/CatalogNavigator.aspx?Definition=AdvancedSearch%26ChannelID=%7B19E09D82-D02E-440F-A296-07BE5D203786%7D

This gives a long list of models with that number, and
the familiar message:

"Product is not available on-line. Please call Customer
 Care for more information."

However, we can plug the same number into the
'Literature / Image Search' box at the bottom right,
searching 'All Literature' for 'Model/Part Number',
and we get this page of related PDF files for that model:
http://customer.honeywell.com/Honeywell/CatalogNavigator.aspx?Definition=Search&Catalog=&ChannelID=%7B19E09D82-D02E-440F-A296-07BE5D203786%7D&ReturnUrl=http://customer.honeywell.com/Honeywell/CatalogNavigator.aspx?Definition=Search%26Catalog=%26ChannelID=%7B19E09D82-D02E-440F-A296-07BE5D203786%7D%26ReturnUrl=http://customer.honeywell.com/Honeywell/CatalogNavigator.aspx?Definition=AdvancedSearch%26
ChannelID=%7B19E09D82-D02E-440F-A296-07BE5D203786%7D

The first one, 67-5102, the 'sell sheet' gives the specs
for the product, noting compatibility for the following
systems:

UNITED STATES CANADA

Since this is a thermostat which is able to handle up to
6 wires, and all but 3 of the systems above, and your
current thermostat has only 4 wires, as noted in PDFs
below, chances are it will accommodate your system,
unless it is Multistage Heating and Cooling, Heat Pump
with Auxiliary Heat, or Electric Baseboard Heat.

If we explored the literature for the 7 day programmable
available on the Home Depot page, I think we'd find a
similar degree of compatibility.

Also available on that RTH6300B PDFs page are the
installation guide and owners manual, in various languages.

Here are the PDFs for your current thermostat, should
you need them:

Aha! I did manage to find a page on another part of Honeywell's
vast site which presents various digital programmable thermostats
for your consideration:
http://customer.honeywell.com/Honeywell/UI/Pages/Catalog/ComponentCategory.aspx?Catalog=Homes&Category=Digital+Programmable_2034&ChannelID=%7b2EB2F178-20ED-44E0-97FB-CCFB4218DD64%7d

However, you'll note the that RTH6300B that we found available
at Home Depot is not listed on the page, and none of the ones
listed on that page are seen on the Home Depot site, so you're
still likely stuck with what you can find at a retail store of
your choosing. It's sort of a matter of picking the "flavor of
the month", since the retailers are selling what's in stock,
while Honeywell is cranking out newer models. Mine, a 5-1-1
programmable for a heat pump, is already listed as outdated
on the Honeywell site, though I bought it only about a year ago.

If all this hasn't made your task of selecting a replacement
more simple, feel free to come back with questions. Another
helpful tool is the Honeywell Thermostat Wizard, which can
walk you through wiring, programming and troubleshooting
your new thermostat:
