Since my previous question on the same suject was unanswered and
closed I am putting it up again.I am looking to buy vintage pocket
watch(es) with enamel portraits of Indian Maharajas.
I subscribe to catalogs from Sothebys,Christies and Antiquorum so I
need help in locating such watches from any other source other than
these 3 Auction houses.
so it may be other Auction houses or dealers or individuals.
I've located such watches thru the Net as far as USA,Australia,UK,so
they are out there!
But it must be a vintage pocket watch with an enamel portrait of an
Indian Maharaja that is available for sale. |

which has information about vintage enamel coated watches of Indian
maharajas.
There are various stores and auction houses in Bombay & Delhi in India
which have such watches. Let me know if you need addresses of such
stores/art emporiums/auction houses. In Bombay(Mumbai) Marcks and Co.
Ltd. is a famous place for such watches.

Hi Muhammad.
As I mentioned in my question I deal with 3 Auction houses already and
Antiquorum is one of them (to which you have mentioned the link).I'n
aware of the article in Vox,The Antiquorum magazine,to which the link
is to and its a useful background on the subject.
In terms of the second point you mention,various stores and auctions
in India or in Bombay if you can help locate one of these that
actually has a pocket watch with an enamel portrait of a Maharaja that
is genuinely for sale you have answered my question.In terms of Marcks
& Co as far as I'm aware they don't stock vintage watches though they
may I guess be able to help in locating an individual who may have the
type of watch I'm looking for.Unless you are physically there its
difficult to do this...over to you again.

Thanks.I look forward to hearing from you.There is also an old
European watch repairer in Mumbai who repairs high end watches-he may
be able to help as to who may have what I'm looking for.I don't have
his contact but if you ask someone at Marcks & co they may be able to
help.
