Hi Badoowii, here's a few resources. From the Human Genome Project: http://www.ornl.gov/sci/techresources/Human_Genome/medicine/genetest.shtml There is a very interesting 2005 British report from the Human Genetics Commission on an analysis of the case for and against genetic profiling of babies at birth. see particularly in 'Genetic Profiling and Medical Services' http://www.hgc.gov.uk/UploadDocs/Contents/Documents/Final%20Draft%20of%20Profiling%20Newborn%20Report%2003%2005.pdf and here's a paper from the University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics on an up and coming specific use including pros and cons: http://www.utoronto.ca/jcb/home/news_nutrigenomics.htm |
