I want a log of the mp3 files I listen to.

Please find at least one Winamp plug-in that accomplishes this.

In case it's not obvious, the plug-in would simply append some sort of
song info (filename?  id3?) to a text file -- just like webservers do.

That'll do, but barely. It only logs the id3 info. 

If you can rapidly find any others, that'd be good.  Perhaps another
coder wrote another plug-in that logs filenames instead/as well.
