Many journals charge researchers for publishing their research. I
would like to know an average number of articles that are published
for payment, either accross the industry, or in a few important
journals.

I dont need many sources for the answer. As long as there are a couple
which provide the answer and are RELIABLE and QUOTABLE, that is
sufficient.
