We are constantly hearing that all chronic diseases, as well as many cancers (besides lung cancer) are on the rise. I would like some figures which analzye the increaisng morbidity (despite the increase in life expectancy). i.e. I want figures which deal with quality of life, rather than length of life. (I know the CDC statistics imply that disease is on the decrease - but all other data seems to point otherwise). |

This is just a free comment, not an "answer" to your question. As average life-span increases, there is more time for diseases to develop, and I believe the immune system weakens. Prostate cancer: men used to die before it occurred or was recognized. Now any male over 70 must reckon with getting it. With improved medical research, it is possible to identify cancers much earlier - before obvious symptoms arise. I understand that cancerous cells can now be indentified in many women's breasts before they begin to multiply, which they do not always do. Problems of the dietary tract and arteries can now be seen and treated that weren't known a few decades ago. I hope this is some help. Regards, Myoarin |
