In an episode of Seinfeld ("The Jacket"), Jerry buys a suede jacket
which is ruined when he wears it outside during a heavy snow shower.

My question is simply - does snow ruin suede?

By the way, I'm referring to long term damage rather than immediate
changes to the suede appearance.

As snow is basically water...

If you have Naked Leather items and want the soft and good look of
the leather to always show, it is best to purchase rain gear to cover
the leather. Once its wet, water will show as dark spots.

C'mon Jerry, show a little backbone...wear the candy stripes proudly!
