I would like to get the list of sites that provide the service ?ask
the expert? with video and audio feature.( For example something like Google
answer with video support or asktheinternettherapist.com).
In the list I want to know two things:
1.What technology they use for the service.
2.Who are their clients.
If you have any question I will be happy to clarify them.

(1) By "technology" - do you mean for example -
"asktheinternettherapist.com uses the video/audio features of Yahoo!
messanger", or are you asking about something else?

Dear Kardon,

Google Answers and asktheinternettherapist.com are two very different services.

Kasamba
<http://www.kasamba.com/>
?With Kasamba, you can [?] communicate with the Expert via web cam,
audio, chat or email.?

Technology: uses in-house software, called ?Expert Communication Suite
(ECS)? that the ?Experts? have to download. The client uses a
java-based system already integrated to the site (and doesn?t have to
download anything). It is not clear therefore how the web-cam advice
system works.

Clientele: General public. The site is divided into categories, from
computers to education, through law and medicine, similarly to Google
Answers. Most popular category by far seems to be ?Spirituality &
Religion?, a euphemism to ?psychic hotline advice?: and that is
probably the type of clientele to be expected.

Christian Counseling / Counselling
<http://www.christiancounselling.on.ca/online_audio_video_Christian_counseling_counselling,_inner_healing,_art_&_play_therapy,_theraplay.htm>

Technology: Skype, Festoon, and a web-cam.

Clientele: Christian and alternative therapy seekers.

****
Mystic Insight
<http://www.mysticinsight.com/index.cfm>

Technology: In-House technology. Demonstrated on :
<http://www.mysticinsight.com/catagories/howDoes_chat.cfm> ; using a
Flash Communication Server (see:
http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=180866).

Clientele: Mystic/psychic advice seekers.

***
Talking Doc
<http://www.talkingdoc.com/>

Technology: N/A (probably private messengers).

Clientele: people in need of psychological therapy.

***
I?m Live
<http://imlive.com/homepage.asp>

Technology: Java-based in-house developed live streaming, on the site.
No download necessary.

Clientele: the site has many categories, from mysticism to computers.
However, it also offers ?sexual therapy? through livecam ?experts?.
One can only guess what is the most popular category.

***
Psychic Realm
<http://www.psychicrealm.com/index.phtml?2994641220>

Technology: Java based in house development.

Clientele: psychic/mystical advice seekers.

***
The Net Counsellor
<http://www.thenetcounsellor.com/index.html>

Technology: Instant messengers: MSN Messenger, NetMeeting or Yahoo Messenger.

Clientele: psychological/social worker advice seekers.

***
Linda Kaye ? Nice Jewish Psychic
<http://www.nicejewishpsychic.net/webcam.html>

Technology: Webcams and messangers (Yahoo!/MSN/Eyeball)

Clientele: seekers of psychic advice

is this the complete list?
I would expect more...

Dear Kardon,

Regarding sites that are "like Goolge Answers", I am certain that the
list is complete - there aren't many "expert exchange" sites, and
those that exist are well known to me.

Reagrding sites like AskTheInternetTherapist, it is possible, though I
doubt it, that there are more sites. I am saying that because I
scanned the web and began to get again and again the same sites, with
no new sites. However, the issue of video counselling is currently a
hot-issue in psychology and other therapeutic professions, and there
are many debates on the subject, so it is possible that there are some
sites that have managed to skip my radar. I have also bumped into
several sites that have either promised to "have video counselling
possible" on a certain date (this deadline has flown by, but there is
no video counselling out there); or have had video counselling and
their site claims it is not available right now.

I would think that obtaining a client list would be difficult, if not
impossible, particularly with personal services such as Ask the
Internet Therapist.

hello kardon ga! as a psychotherapist with 2 years experience of
using video counselling with a limited number of clients, I have found
MSN messenger and Skype to be OK but far from perfect. I will be going
online with a new web based counselling service within the next few
weeks and could possibly give you a more in-depth comment in 6 months.
regarding clients profile - between 35 and 45 with a high level of
interest in hi-tech communication! there are still a lot of barriers
out there!
